We should start a felt team. I'll be riding an F5.

Maybe we should just pick a day on RAGBRAI and all ride together! We could all get "Felt" up!! Sorry - just couldn't resist the pun! Laughing

My wife even laughed at that one. She thinks Ragbrai is nothing but bare boobs and beer. (I hate to tell her she is right) Seriously. If you ride past a yellow and black F70 Felt, just yell GOOSE and I will know who you are.

My red and black LeMond Maiilot Jaune (how's that for irony) has red Conti GP4000s and I have a helmet that matches the bike. I had over 1100 miles before RAGBRAI last year. This year I almost have 500 so far. Color coordination is FAR more important than training!

Hey all!
I just purchased red Michelin Pro 3 Tires for my Red Cannondale.

What do you think of them if you have them? I hear good things about them, but what I really want to know is the traction on a mossy, wet, wood bridge. Would my bike slide out from under me with these tires?

Still healing from this happening with a different set of tires. Please say the traction is superior!

See you at RAGBRAI!! Cannot wait!

I only use the Pro Race 3's on my road bikes. They are a very light and very fast tire, but they don't wear well or last long. They are also very thin. I've had good luck with puncture resistance, but I know others have not. They are really designed for racing, not long distance or loaded touring.

As far as traction, I don't think any tires, except a knobby would offer decent traction on a wet wooden bridge. These ones certainly won't. Wet wood is slick as ice.

The GP4000s have served me well in wet conditions. I believe the GP4000S (chili compound) is supposed to be a little better on wet pavement, but it doesn't come in red. And coloro coordination is the way to go!

Just put two new Continental Ultra Gator Skins on my Bianchi. The old ones had 3,000+ miles on them and they are still in good shape. I wanted new tires before RAGBRAI. I also had to replace my saddle about 2 weeks ago. Hated to do it that close to RAGBRAI but the old one split open and I had no choice. It is still a bit stiff but it's getting better. I'm ready for Iowa! Wink

Mine's a 5 year old F90. For an inexpensive, entry-level bike, it's been fabulous!! Someday I might upgrade, but will stick with the Felts.
